Don’t Starve: TBG – Launching September 30th & Early Bird Announcement
Hear that voice coming from your speakers? It’s calling you. It’s your turn to get swiped into the portal, as the campaign for Don’t Starve: The Board Game launches on Kickstarter on September 30, 2025.
This long-awaited news is accompanied by a token of appreciation for all of you who wish to support the project the very moment it goes live. Read on!
The Early Bird Gets the Moleworm
Among the many opportunities to enhance your game, the campaign will feature the fully playable character Wolfgang, along with all of his game components and a digital skin for use in Don’t Starve Together. The mighty muscleman is a Glass Cannon Unplugged exclusive, and as such will never be available for purchase at retail.
Normally, Wolfgang will be offered at a regular price during the course of the campaign. But if you back the game within the first 72 hours from launch, he will be added to your copy for FREE!

What’s a Follower?
Kickstarter recently introduced a new feature: creators can now post updates to followers even before the campaign goes live. We’re taking advantage of this so you can share your thoughts with us early. Seeing more followers join each day is great—but hearing from you directly is even better.
Many of you expressed great interest in the nitty-gritty details of the Constant Curiosities mini-expansion. Here’s the deal: Constant Curiosities is a box of goodies unlocked each week as we approach the campaign. The uncanny thing about it is that it grows with the number of followers for the project. “But what is a follower in the first place?” you might rightly ask. “Well, let us tell you all about it,” is our eager reply.
You follow the project as soon as you click the “Notify me on launch” clicky-thing on the Kickstarter preview page. That’s it—you’re a follower! And—here’s the most important bit—being one grants you the Constant Curiosities mini-expansion for FREE with each game!
Once the campaign launches and you choose to support it by pledging to purchase Don’t Starve: The Board Game (whether the core version or one of the deluxe options that we’ve painstakingly prepared to better shower you with Don’t Starve goodness), you’re good!
Worried that it’s been some time since you followed? Don’t—we’re carefully keeping track of your support!
In case you don’t want to click through all previous blog entries for the project to see what’s part of Constant Curiosities so far, here’s a handy list:
- 2 new objective cards for the highly replayable, Wendy-themed scenario Last Wish.
- 2 new items, including the Morning Star and the iconic Pick/Axe, as well as new cooking recipes for Butter Muffins and Pierogi.
- 4 new location cards to further expand the game world.
- 2 new blueprints for exclusive structures: the Night Light and the Meat Effigy.
- A new Pick/Axe skin for use in the video game Don’t Starve Together, to directly tie into the board game.

Please keep in mind that the redeem codes for any digital skins will be included in the mini-expansion box once the game is produced.
If just one packed auditorium of fans at a Maxwell magic show all followed our preview page, we’d blow past the 50,000-follower mark in no time. But since Maxwell last toured the world at the beginning of the 20th century, why not turn to your friends and family instead so we can pack Constant Curiosities with even more amazing content!
Hey, Wanna Play?
Let’s take a closer look at the third playable character in Don’t Starve: The Board Game. Webber is one of the youngest Survivors, but the thing is—he doesn’t exactly look like it. Due to an unfortunate accident, he now resembles a humanoid spider. He actually views reality through the double perspective of human and arachnid, often referring to himself as “we.”
“I want to go home, but we can’t find the way.”
He’s not really a monster, though. He’s actually friendly and likable. That said, he’s having a hard time blending in with the rest of the Survivors. At times this is a boon, since he’s the only character that isn’t attacked by spiders on sight. He actually knows how to make friends with them.
Not so much with pigs, though. They only need to catch a glimpse of him to make him their next target.
We’re excited to bring Webber onto the tabletop, as he’s especially popular among the GCU crew.
In Accord on Discord
If you wish to try out Don’t Starve: The Board Game in action, get on over to our official Discord server and book a game session with Asaf—Mr. EZBoardGames himself—and GCU’s own Derek!
Starving Across Languages
We also happily announce that Don’t Starve: The Board Game is getting a Brazilian edition! Que incrível!
This brings the full list of available languages to: Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, and Spanish.
Make sure you are up to date with everything we’ve revealed about our project so far. Check out the full preview page. Just make sure to use a browser, and not the official Kickstarter application, as the latter has been reported to only display the banner for the campaign.
Pretty soon, we will be spotlighting another iconic monster mob, which gets us thinking—what do you consider the most creatively bizarre monster in the entire Don’t Starve series? Post your picks in the comments for the preview page, and we will share a few of ours, too.
And of course, feel free to ask us anything about the project. Just don’t expect us to give away all our secrets at once!
